Looking for some sweet children’s books with a message about helping animals? Nobody’s Cats is the story of one little kitty who was the first of many helped out of the cold, based on the work of Lakes Animal Friendship Society in Burns Lake, B.C. The lovely story is now available in French and Spanish, and new animal welfare books have been added.

These cat photo books were part of my gift set Looking for some great gift books for cat-lovers? Here are three suggestions I found at my local bookseller, Black Bond Books, that I sent to my sister Kathy.
Kringle checks out Community Cats “It all started when a rat ran over my husband’s foot.” With this compelling opening line, Anne Beall takes us on a journey with feral cats in Chicago, in her book, Community Cats. At the same time, she provides important data adding to the cats and birds debate.
Kringle with my library copy of the book Animal communicator Pea Horsley’s second book explores grief and loss. Although at times it was a difficult journey to take with the author, the book offers real gems that will comfort many animal lovers.
Kringle with my library copy of the book I’ve become a huge fan of haiku, and was delighted to find this sweet children’s book filled with beautifully written work. It’s always a good sign when the library copy is well thumbed. I also love that the story features a rescued cat, telling the story in his own words.
Kringle with my library copy of the book Fascinating memoir where the cats are stars. Andrew opens up about his struggles searching for career success in Los Angeles, while finding his true calling as a feral cat caregiver. I hope he found another calling in writing this story. He is a marvellous writer.
Kringle with Dewey One of my favourite cat books is the heartwarming story of Dewey, by Vicki Myron and Bret Witter. A short version of Dewey's story is in a poem I wrote from words found in the book, shared below.
Kringle with Pea Horsley's Heart to Heart Wouldn’t you want to hear your pet talk in your own language? According to intuitive animal communicators, it's possible! I loved Pea Horsley’s account of attending a workshop and discovering that animal communication was her calling, in her book Heart to Heart. Last year, a holistic healer connected with my kitty Kringle, and it was a moving experience. I’m hoping to develop the skill myself; Pea Horsley says that anyone can.
Kringle with Felix's book Delightful non-fiction account of a fluffy tuxedo cat who has brought much joy to a Yorkshire train station and become an international sensation.
Kringle with my library copy of the book I’ve learned a lot watching Jackson Galaxy help transform challenging cats in the TV show, My Cat From Hell, and was thrilled that he has now compiled his essential advice in a book.
