There’s a new cat at Casa Kringle: Cassie. She's from the RAPS Cat Sanctuary in Richmond, B.C., where I said I was interested in adopting an older cat with special needs.

I once used this photo to communicate with my kitty After learning about intuitive animal communication in Pea Horsley’s book, Heart to Heart, I tried it with my kitty Kringle. I hoped to help him with his matted fur, but our conversations took a different turn with inspiring wisdom, love, and humour.
Kringle the garden cat in August 2018 How does a cat lover negotiate the difficult space after a beloved cat has passed, and no furry creature is home to soften the grief? I believe my dear companion wouldn’t want me to wallow.
Kringle inspects my library copy of the book What a pleasure to read insights on cat behaviour from Canada’s leading cat behaviourist, Daniel Filion of Montreal, Quebec! It also showed me that there is a great need for information about TNR programs in the French language.
I adored this little book filled with true stories about heroic and amazing cats from around the world. Beautifully designed and peppered with interesting cat facts and tips, it’s a lovely coffee table book that would be great to find at your veterinary hospital waiting room.
Kringle looks marvellous after a few days of fluid treatment My days have become consumed with senior cat care, since Kringle was recently diagnosed with chronic kidney disease (CKD). How do you help a kitty who doesn’t appreciate much handling when that’s required for treatment? I was thrilled to get nursing help from a local cat rescuer.
Looking for some sweet children’s books with a message about helping animals? Nobody’s Cats is the story of one little kitty who was the first of many helped out of the cold, based on the work of Lakes Animal Friendship Society in Burns Lake, B.C. The lovely story is now available in French and Spanish, and new animal welfare books have been added. These cat photo books were part of my gift set Looking for some great gift books for cat-lovers? Here are three suggestions I found at my local bookseller, Black Bond Books, that I sent to my sister Kathy.
Kringle checks out Community Cats “It all started when a rat ran over my husband’s foot.” With this compelling opening line, Anne Beall takes us on a journey with feral cats in Chicago, in her book, Community Cats. At the same time, she provides important data adding to the cats and birds debate.
