B.J. and Ebony in June 2010 A few years ago, I wrote some fun rhymes that captured the quirky personalities of my two cats. Both have passed on, but I believe our beloved animals live on not only in memory, but in spirit. I picture B.J. prancing in the garden while Ebony shelters in the shade of the daylilies. Adventurous B.J.
B.J. is a fluffy cat who loves to go outside. Dogs on leash don’t bother him; he doesn’t run and hide. He loves to smell the flowers and explore the neighbour’s yard, see what raccoons and squirrels have left and leave his own calling card. Musical Ebony Ebony, my little girl just loves soprano sound. If I look all around and she can’t be found, I’ll give a song a whirl. From anywhere, my Ebony, whether at rest or play, with blinking eyes, will come my way, and meow in harmony. - Irene Plett Topics: B.J., Ebony, cats, poetry, rhyme
